Biography
French Soprano Elsa Benoit (1987) began her music education by singing and playing piano. While studying musicology she made her first steps on stage as member of Rennes and Angers-Nantes Opera choir. Very quickly, she decided to explore new horizons and was admitted to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (2007).
During her time in Amsterdam, Elsa trained under the guidance of Valérie Guillorit, Sasja Hunnego, Margreet Honing, Jeff Cohen, Alexander Oliver and Ira Siff. In June 2011, she graduated with her Bachelor Diploma.
Elsa has performed in prestigious halls like the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, De Doelen in Rotterdam and De Singel in Anvers. Season 2011/2012 was marked by Elsa’s admission in the Dutch National Opera Academy in Amsterdam.
In November 2012, Elsa won three prizes at the International Singing Competition “Symphonies d’Automne” (France). She won the young talent prize, the best interpretation of the commissioned song prize and the audience prize. She received warm encouragements from personalities in the opera world like Leontina Vaduva or Bernard Tetu. Elsa also won the prize "Brane-Cantenac" at the International Singing Competition "MACM" in March 2013.
In season 2013/2014, Elsa will be a member of the Bayerische Opera Studio in Munich. (elsabenoit.com)
